To give a judgement, navigate to the Balance homepage and click Professional Judgements.
Apply any relevant filters, including subject, year and depth of learning for ARE, and your pupil list will update accordingly. Use the Viewing drop-down or the filters to help analyse key groups or contextual information against your professional judgement statements.
You may notice that the ARE columns are displayed when selecting core subjects. These are pulled from the Balance matrices for each pupil in your account. For foundation subjects, the ARE columns are hidden, and you are shown the depth of learning, which is taken from the top layer of the class analysis area of Balance.
Please note that columns are here to guide you; the judgement is still your opinion and doesn't have to be dictated by the data in these columns. You can hide the Depth of Learning and ARE columns by clicking the relevant toggle on this page.
To add a judgement, make sure you have the relevant year and subject selected and click the radio button alongside the applicable pupil, or click on the Professional Judgement in the final column. A box will appear at the bottom of the page, allowing you to make your judgement. Select the judgement before clicking Save. It will then be applied to that pupil, and the pop-up box will disappear.
Clicking on a pupil's name takes you to the analysis pages for that pupil.
Once you apply some judgements, the class summary will update at the top of the page. This allows you to see an overview of your judgements, broken down by each. To change between percentage and count, click the relevant radio button on the right-hand side of this menu.
Alongside each pupil's name is a green Note icon, click this, and a panel will appear, allowing you to add a specific note against that pupil's record. These notes can be used for any internal comments you need to make. Only staff members in your account that have access to the page you make the note on can see these.
